Catering Assistants | Burwood

Location: Christchurch – Burwood Hospital

Hours: 30 or 40 hours per week (each role includes 1 weekend day per week and are 10-hour shifts)

Start Date: Mid-January 2025

About this Role

WellFood is seeking motivated, reliable, and punctual Catering Assistants to joinour team at Burwood Hospital. In this role, you will work as part of a large, dynamic team, collaborating with other Catering Assistants, Kitchen Assistants, and Cooks to provide an exceptional dining experience for our patients.

These roles offer the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients while gaining valuable experience in a healthcare setting. All training will be provided, and no food preparation is required – your main responsibilities will include assembling and delivering meal trays, assisting patients with menu choices, and ensuring the highest standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver meal and beverage services to patients in their wards
• Assist patients in understanding and selecting menu options
• Assemble meal trays and deliver them to the wards while providing excellent customer service to patients and their whānau
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Be on your feet for most of the shift, including pushing trolleys and walking throughout the hospital
