Applicant absolutely must have experience and expertise putting up cattle fencing. This is a contracted labor position and training is not provided.

Responsibilities

  • Install new cattle fences using various materials such as wood, wire, and metal posts, ensuring alignment and stability.
  • Repair or replace damaged fencing components to maintain livestock safety and property boundaries.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently during installation projects.
  • Measure distances accurately, mark fence lines, and set posts according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan fencing layouts that optimize land use and livestock movement.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify potential obstacles or hazards before beginning installation or repairs.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly after each project.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction, carpentry, frame carpentry, masonry or related fields with a focus on outdoor projects.
  • Familiarity with welding techniques and the safe operation of power tools and hand tools.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and work in physically demanding conditions outdoors.
  • Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing, or landscape maintenance is a plus for site preparation tasks.
  • Prior construction site experience involving fencing or hardscape projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate measurements and quality workmanship.
