Civil Worker - New Plymouth

NPE-Tech is an accredited established Electrical Contracting company based in Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Tauranga and Hamilton.

We are currently looking for Civil Worker to join our New Plymouth.

About the Role:

This is an exciting time for our company as we are experiencing strong growth, and this is a great opportunity for staff who want to grow with us. This role will suit experienced Civil Worker and/or Driller/Locators who’s ability to deliver the best services to customers, on time and to the company’s high quality standards.


Key Tasks and Duties


  • Operate plant and equipment safely and in accordance with company’s Safe Operating Procedures
  • Operate a directional drill for under boring and be competent to operate the locator
  • Assist Lines person/man with the installation electrical equipment in compliance with electrical codes, standards and regulations
  • Gain understanding of how to read plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and or installations.
  • Operate power/hand tools and other specialised equipment.
  • Participate in site and company meetings as required.
  • Support the companies preferred suppliers
  • Develop positive working relationships with other team member.
  • Proactively communicate any issues that may hinder the successful completion of a task

Health and Safety


  • Take reasonable care that your actions or inactions cause no harm to you or others
  • Actively participate in health and safety matters and processes.
  • Follow safe working instructions.
  • Use protective clothing and equipment as and where
  • Report incidents, accidents, near misses and hazards.

What we are looking for


  • Hold a valid NZ driver’s license (Class 2 preferable)
  • Holds the legal right to work in New Zealand or be a New Zealand citizen/Resident
  • Aptitude for Civil work and/or directional drilling
  • Demonstrate knowledge and protection of underground assets
