Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
In this role, you will provide clinical psychology expertise to the School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing, the Director(s) of Clinical Training, Psychology Centre Director and Head of School. You will contribute to the effective academic and professional functioning of the clinical training programme and Psychology Centre by contributing to teaching and supervision of clinical psychology students. You will support and supervise students on placement in the Psychology Centre, and provide, tuition, coaching, practicum training, supervision and other clinical services as may be required. You will also contribute to the programme's bicultural teaching and competence as well as work towards advancing bicultural competence and confidence. You will see clients for the Psychology centre outside of practicum placements.
Mōu | Who You Are
As a Clinical Educator at UC, you will:
- Hold a Postgraduate Diploma or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or overseas equivalent)
- Be a Registered Psychologist in the Clinical Scope in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Have post-registration experience working as a Clinical Psychologist
- Experience applying evidence-based treatments
- Experience in training/and or clinical supervision of students on placement
- An ability in and knowledge of te reo me ōna tikanga Māori will be an advantage
- Clinical work with children and families and/or neuropsychology will also be considered an advantage.

The Psychology Centre is the clinical psychology training and research centre for the Clinical Psychology Programme at the UC.
