Commercial Analyst

Te Tūranga | About the role:

Our Commercial Analysts provide financial and business insights to our Operations and Site Leadership teams and to the business more broadly, that inform decision making to increase the overall profitability of Silver Fern Farms.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager Operations, as well as the Senior Commercial Analyst team in the Operations and Logistics spaces, this role will provide insights, commentary, reporting and value analysis to support the Operations leaders in decision making and value realization across the business, particularly within the Operations area.

The key impact areas of this role are to:

• Answer questions from Operations and Site leadership focused on efficiency initiatives – and then to monitor and measure outcomes.
• Support Senior Commercial Analysts with yield and value capture, as well as analysis of our Logistics function.
• Provide business case analysis expertise – work with Operations teams to understand business case goals, then apply a lens of cost and revenue to ensure commercial viability.
• Work closely with the Operations Teams to build processes to identify and prioritise business opportunities.
• Provide strategic planning, business planning and option analysis/modelling

This position would be ideally based in our Dunedin Hub, but we will consider applications from applicants who could be based from our Christchurch and Auckland hubs as well.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You:

You’ll be a professional with experience working in a similar role in the commercial space in the private sector or a highly experienced management accountant. Additionally, a positive team player who enjoys working to deliver value and demonstrates the ability to be adaptable through change. This This role would suit a commercial professional wanting to work in a higly complex environment.

Ideally you will be:

• Professionally qualified account (CA, CPA etc.)
• At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant management accounting or commercial role
• Excellent relationship management skills; actively applies a customer service approach to key relationships throughout the business
• Proficient with manipulating data to gain insight analysis using tools like Excel, PowerBI, Cubes etc.
