Community Support Worker Part- Time (35 hrs/week) –– Richmond, BC

Hours of work: 08:00am to 03:00pm | Tuesday to Saturday

Working in one of our four Adult Day Programs (LIFE), this role supports pesons with developmental disabilities to experience improved quality of life, social inclusion, and achieve individual goals.

***This position provides weekday coverage within supported living services, acting as a floater to support staffing needs.

***This position is designated for female candidates in accordance with program requirements

YOUR IMPACT:

· Provide direct staff support for individuals with developmental disabilities, including people with complex and/or challenging behaviour or support needs.

· Establish respectful relationships with individuals which promote their dignity and well-being.

· Support individuals to achieve goals based on their own choice, beliefs and desires.

· Encourage individuals to build connections; to live self-determined lives in the community surrounded by friends and family.

YOUR CAPABILITIES:

· Diploma or degree in a related field at least six months experience working with people with disabilities or other barriers to community inclusion (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).

· Valid First Aid and CPR Certification

· Approved Criminal Record Check.

· Valid Class 4 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record or Class 5 License with a willingness to obtain Class 4

· Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

· Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization.

· Reliable problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.

Pay: $25.95-$26.83 per hour
