About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Community Support Worker in our team at the community site based in Te Kamo, Whangārei. This is a permanent, full time role working 40 hours per week.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The community mental health service provides community-based assessment and treatment services to people, including those presenting with alcohol and drug issues, through both community follow-up and outpatient clinics. This service also provides the crisis response for mental health, dual diagnosis and clinical rehabilitation, (within business hours).

Working with a passionate, multi-disciplinary team who place great value on putting people first, you will have the standard of clinical practice and expertise necessary to effectively provide for tāngata whaiora and whānau needs within the service here in Northland.

About you

Our ideal applicant will need:

• To have a willingness to undertake professional development and be a positive team member
• You will be a highly motivated team player and enjoy working with children, young people and their whānau
• Mental Health Level 4 Certificate
• Current full Drivers License
• A recovery focus and evidence from previous work history
• Excellent in written and verbal communication skills
• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
• Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
