Job Summary
This Position requires commitment. Must care and show compassion for the elderly and those with special needs. Must be a self starter. Must be willing to work on Weekends, Holidays, and on call. Be willing to go on appointments, and outings with the Residents.
Direct Care Worker must be have a heart for seniors. Must be able to commit, and dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized support to individuals in various settings, including group homes. This position focuses on assisting residents with daily living activities while ensuring their dignity and rights are upheld. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide support in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Implement care plans as directed by nursing staff, ensuring adherence to each resident's specific needs.
- Respect and uphold resident rights while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions to the nursing staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Lift and transfer residents safely using proper techniques to prevent injury.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience or knowledge in memory care practices is preferred.
- Ability to assist individuals with varying levels of ability, including those with autism.
- Familiarity with resident rights and the importance of maintaining dignity in care.
- Basic understanding of care plans and the role of nursing staff in implementing them.
- Commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards within the care environment.
- Physical stamina to perform lifting tasks and remain active throughout shifts.
- Empathy and patience when working with individuals requiring direct care.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.85 per hour
