Convenience Store Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This position has management responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a store such as hiring, training knowledgeable associates, inventory management, store compliance and executing strategic merchandising initiatives. This position reports directly to the Regional Manager for guidance on operating procedures, guidance on brand product merchandising and compliance and food safety requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job duties, responsibilities and requirements:

1. Leadership and Management: Directly supervises the activities of 2 or more full-time employees which may include Assistant Managers and Customer Service Representatives. a. Recruits, hires and trains positive, enthusiastic employees, ensuring excellent customer service. b. Develops, manages and assigns tasks appropriately to ensure the store is clean, adequately stocked, organized and well-kept based on Company standards. c. Maintains a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisor. d. Schedules employees within Company guidelines and to the needs of the business to maximize customer service and maintain store image. e. Implements non-discriminatory related management skills while hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating and separating employees.

2. Store Relationships: a. Develops positive and professional relationships with all suppliers. b. Promotes excellent service and resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner. c. Promotes and ensures a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.

3. Training and Development: a. Prepares on-going and timely performance appraisals in Workday for all employees, providing proper performance-based feedback b. Trains all employees ensuring that customer service, store image and marketing execution meet Company standards. c. Trains all employees on safety procedures and promote safety awareness. d. Mentors and trains all employee on cash awareness and expectations to help reduce risk to the company. e. Ensures employees complete all required training in a timely manner.

4. Communications: a. Develops ways and means to ensure that all employees receive proper communication in a timely manner. b. Establishes periodic on-going communication meetings with all store employees and the Market Manager.

5. Organizing and Planning: a. Evaluates and develops specific action plans to address the needs of the store in order to reach the desired objectives. b. Organizes and maintains all store files and manuals. c. Manages and supervises store employees to ensure that all required and requested reports are completed accurately and timely. d. Manages and supervises store employees to ensure that all merchandise is stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly. e. Ensures that all required employment related posters and signs are in a place that is easily accessible to all employees.

6. Financial: Analyzes daily sales and expense information and takes appropriate action to maximize sales and net profits. a. Understands and manages merchandise margins. b. Safeguards and accounts for all money received and disbursed. c.Notifies Regional Manager of any sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancy.

Qualifications

- Strong management skills with experience in supervising a team and overseeing daily operations
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory control, and cash register management
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on retail sales and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Ability to effectively manage purchasing, stock levels, and inventory control
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee orientation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of retail management practices and experience in overseeing a convenience store
- Proficiency in basic math, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse customer base
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
- Familiarity with wireless sales and marketing strategies would be beneficial
