Nanaknospitality limited operates a number of businesses including Orange Cafe and Castle Eatery & Bar in the centre of Whanganui. The company is now looking for 5 Cooks.

Job Details:

Work location: Whanganui

Length of employment: Full time and permanent.

Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week (Minimum 30 hours guaranteed)

Payrate $25.00 to $34.00 per hour

Number of positions vacant: 5

Job duties of the position offered –

• examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

• regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

• preparing and cooking food

• seasoning food during cooking

• portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

• storing food in temperature controlled facilities

• preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

• may plan menus and estimate food requirements

• may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Requirements of the position offered -

• NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification in cookery field, or at least 1 year relevant work experience
• Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as per the roster
• Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit
• Able to work till late evenings
• Can pass drug test and have a clean police record
