Job Description: Cook PT/Casual

Reports to: Chef

Key areas of responsibility:

• Prepare buffet and family-style meals for up to 50 guests, with a focus on health-conscious and dietary-specific options.
• Collaborate with the Chef to review menus, production sheets, and implement necessary substitutions.
• Ensure kitchen safety and cleanliness, adhering to Food Safe and Public Health guidelines.
• Conduct daily temperature checks and audits of food storage areas.
• Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef, coordinating staff workflow.
• Participate in planning for special events and provide input on menus and schedules.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent; Culinary Training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in large-quantity food preparation.
• Knowledge of special diets (an asset).
• Food Safe Level 1 (Level 2 an asset); must pass a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and maintain high sanitation standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs (accommodations available for candidates with disabilities).
