Job Summary

The Commercial Paint Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial painting projects. This role involves reviewing project plans, analyzing specifications, and collaborating with project managers, vendors, and clients to ensure bids are complete and aligned with company standards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of painting products and application methods, the ability to read and understand blueprints, and the ability to manage multiple estimates in a fast-paced environment.

While this role is not expected to involve direct client interaction, there may be opportunities for client-facing responsibilities depending on the candidate’s experience, communication skills, and project needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, drawings, project specifications, and other documentation to determine scope of work and required materials.
• Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, production rates, and quantity take-offs.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates reflect realistic timelines and production expectations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and stay updated on material costs.
• Prepare bid proposals, RFP responses, and supporting documents for project submissions.
• Track and follow up on submitted bids; participate in post-bid meetings and negotiations as needed.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, project notes, and cost history.
• Assist with project handoff meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimation to execution.
• Stay current with industry trends, products, and best practices in commercial painting and coatings.
• Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., preparing invoice lists, researching local commercial contractors, etc.).

Required Skills and Abilities

• Previous experience as a paint estimator, construction estimator, or related commercial construction role (2–5+ years).
• Strong understanding of commercial painting techniques, materials, surface preparation, codes, and safety standards.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
• High level of fluency reading architectural plans, specifications, and related documents.
• Proficiency with estimation software and tools (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff).
• Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities, including mastery of the English language.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work U.S. hours (some flexibility may be possible once the new hire is proficient and independent).

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with industrial coatings, specialty finishes, and large-scale commercial projects.
• Experience preparing change orders and cost breakdowns.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator with a focus on commercial or industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with other relevant takeoff and project management software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php40,000.00 - Php45,000.00 per month
