About the Role:

The Crew Chief is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a multi-disciplinary crew that executes scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities within an MRO.

Reporting

The Crew Chief reports directly to the Director of Maintenance (DoM).

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute the project plan created by the Project Manager. Provide input in the planning process as needed and requested.
  • Ensure the way all work is completed is consistent and in accordance with company and federal health and safety policies. Address any non-compliance issues with crew members.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely and profitable manner and in accordance with Avmax's policies and procedures and Transport Canada requirements.
  • Plan workforce coverage and prioritize tasks. Ensure all personnel are properly utilized and crew members are working productively throughout the duration of their shift.
  • Supervise all trades within your crew to ensure routine and non-routine work is planned, prioritized, and executed correctly and on time throughout the project.
  • Work with other groups to expedite maintenance and parts requirements, ensuring minimal impact to the project schedule.
  • Performance tasks on the aircraft, including those being carried out by those under their supervision.
  • Provide any necessary on-the-job training to uphold a high standard of maintenance for the aircraft.
  • Identify and address performance issues on the crew. Escalate performance issues to the Project Manager or DoM for further actioning, as required.
  • Review and be fully familiarized with all aspects of Avmax's Maintenance Policy Manual and General Procedures Manual and General Procedures Manual.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning work environment. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Promote company values, vision, and mission.
  • Attend training courses as directed by company management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possesses strong aircraft maintenance knowledge but not necessarily on any certain type of aircraft.
  • Possess significant experience performing aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Previously been able to demonstrate the ability to listen and communicate skillfully and always deal with people tactfully and professionally in a diverse working environment.

Experience

  • Currently holds a valid TCCA AME license, S rating preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
