Microsoft Defender suite Expertise – Hybrid
Are you an experienced security professional with a strong grounding in the Microsoft Defender suite, security operations, and automation?

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Specialist to join a dedicated team focused on strengthening cyber resilience through best-practice implementation, hands-on security engineering, and proactive threat management.
Location: Hybrid working model (3 days per week onsite at Phoenix House, Conyngham Road, Dublin 8; 2 days remote)
Start Date: On or before 28th July 2025
Contract Duration: 6 months
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day between 08:00–17:30 (excluding lunch and public holidays). Occasional out-of-hours availability may be required, compensated accordingly.
About the Role:
As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a key role in enhancing cybersecurity posture across a wide range of environments through the use of Microsoft’s security toolsets and strategic guidance. You’ll collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders to implement use cases, perform environment reviews, and deploy security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders to define, document, and implement cybersecurity use cases
- Review security environments and recommend practical improvements
- Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender tools across endpoints, identities, and cloud services
- Support security operations functions including threat hunting, incident response, and analytics
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal cyber teams
- Ensure compliance monitoring, baselining, and best practice alignment
- Participate in meetings, assessments, and knowledge-sharing sessions
Essential Experience & Skills (Minimum 5 Years):
1. Microsoft Defender Suite:
- Defender for Endpoint, Office 365, Cloud Apps, Identity
- Mobile Threat Defence integration
2. Microsoft Security Ecosystem:
- Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, Microsoft 365 Defender portal
- Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
- Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM)
3. Security Operations & Threat Management:
- Incident detection, investigation, and response
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK
- Threat hunting, compliance monitoring, and security baselining
4. Scripting & Automation:
- PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting
- API integrations and security automation tools
5. Frameworks & Architecture:
- Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
- Microsoft Cybersecurity Reference Architecture (MCRA)
6. Real-World Implementation:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering cybersecurity use cases within public or enterprise environments
- Strong background in assessing and improving existing security infrastructure
Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active certification in Microsoft security solutions (e.g., AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-401)
- Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related IT discipline
- Full, clean driving licence – May be required to provide evidence
- Must be eligible to work under EU GDPR regulations
- Must be available for hybrid work with some flexibility
- Fluent English language skills:
Native speakers: Indicate clearly on CV
Non-native speakers: CEFR Level C2 Mastery/Proficiency (or equivalent), or demonstrable fluency for evaluation during selection
