The Role


DT Global recognize the importance of the Inception Phase to gain a shared understanding of the business requirements, clearly articulate the strategic intent or program direction into planning and activity development and ensure that the initial program management architecture is appropriate and targeted.

The Data and GIS Specialist will support the Mobilisation Team in the collection of relevant baseline data from key partners and stakeholders. The Consultant will develop and establish an information system for managing, analysing, and visualising data to aid in making decisions and in planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • With support from the Team Leader, collect data from relevant government agencies and other partners.
  • Organize the data according to the needs of the Project and develop a system that facilitates easy access to the members of the Project Team.
  • Provide training and support to the Project Team on their general ICT needs.

Deliverables

  • The Data and GIS Specialists will deliver the following:
a) Consult, identify and develop a strategy and plan on how and what data will be collected from government partners and other sources, including the submission of a work plan with clear timelines.
b) Collect, clean and organize datasets needed by the Mobilisation Team as inputs to planning and consultations.
c) Develop a structured data management and filing system that that enables efficient integration, storage, and retrieval of baseline and monitoring data.
d) With guidance from the Program Education Lead and in collaboration with the other members of the Mobilisation Team, conduct data and spatial analytics as required.
e) Design, develop, test and improve an information system that uses location-based data and linking other descriptive information to help in identifying spatial patterns and relationships as well as trends.
f) Generate, design and draft data presentations including analytical summaries and thematic briefs highlighting key patterns, correlations, and emerging evidence for meetings and consultations with stakeholders.
g) Capacity building of the Project Team on the use of data systems, tools and processes and prepare a simple documentation (metadata and system user guide).

About You

You are an experienced Data and GIS professional with excellent communication skills. You work independently and adaptable in working with multiple stakeholders. You build rapport easily, ensuring responsiveness, reliability, and results.

Selection Criteria

  • Graduate of any ICT-related course and with at least 10 years’ experience in data analysis and management and establishment of data systems.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in spatial analysis using any GIS software
  • Familiarity with education data and statistics and the possible sources of these data a distinct advantage.

Desirable experience and knowledge

  • Experience working with government partners and other stakeholders.
