In this position, you will be assigned to our client located in Melbourne. They are primarily focused on meeting the needs of businesses and the individuals within them through a collaborative approach to financial services. The role

The Data Scientist must have a strong focus on Python to join our dynamic data team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This position requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, proficiency in Python, and experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, as an added advantage.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Using Python for data transformation, and wrangling.
  • Implementing advanced mathematical or statistical model using Python.
  • Building or applying predictive models using Python.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using Python.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data models and architectures.
  • Transform complex datasets into usable formats for analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data processing activities.
  • Utilize Azure services to enhance data processing capabilities and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for data governance and compliance. Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns.
  • Preparing reports for executive and project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT / Business related discipline
  • Solid understanding of foundational principles of data science.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data transformation and manipulation.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, etc.).
  • Machine learning and generative AI experience
  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and big data technologies.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with additional SQL-based technologies.
  • Certifications in Azure.
