About the Roles

At Albany Home and Hospital, we are looking for:

Day Cook and Tea Cook
As an important and integral part of our amazing team, you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the kitchen. You will also be alert and aware of standard proceedings in the kitchen area: ensuring that excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire kitchen.

We have a role available for an experienced Day Cook and Tea Cook.

About you:

  • Reporting to and assisting the Cook in all kitchen-related tasks
  • Assisting the Cook/Kitchen Manager/Chef in preparing and cooking/baking food for the residents by assembling and preparing ingredients. Assisting and preparation of food and meals to a high standard
  • Serving meals in the dining room as scheduled and according to the individual needs of the residents/visitors. Handling food deliveries
  • Cleaning the kitchen area & sculleries and cooking & kitchen utensils
  • Providing services in a pleasant and courteous manner
  • Responsible for maintaining the premises to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring an orderly and comfortable environment for our residents.
  • Experience in a commercial setting preferable
  • Able to work on weekends.
  • Able to work unsupervised and cope with a large workload.
