Day Shift - Residential House Cleaners And Maid

Weekday, Daytime | Part-Time to Full-Time

IS THIS WORK YOU WANT TO DO?

At St. Pete’s Maids, our work is simple to describe and not always easy to do.

We help create peaceful homes that act as restful islands in a chaotic world.

When people walk back into their homes after we’ve been there, they feel relief. They feel calmer. They feel more present with their families and their lives.

That peace doesn’t happen by accident.

It comes from showing up, doing physical work with care, and treating someone else’s home with respect.

Most days, you’ll be cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces while the homeowners are away. It’s hands-on, active work. You’ll move your body, sweat, and feel tired at the end of the day.

  • If you’re looking for something glamorous, this isn’t it.
  • If you’re looking for work that matters and leaves a real impact, this might be.

IS THIS THE COMPANY WHERE YOU WANT TO DO IT?

We’re very intentional about how we run this business — because how work feels matters just as much as what the work is.

Pay & Compensation

We don’t use “up to” language or complicated pay schemes.

We offer clear, hourly pay, paid consistently, with:

  • Paid training
  • Tips and gifts kept by you; we even eat credit card fees
  • No paycheck deductions for mistakes, breakage, or return visits

We don’t use commission pay or individual performance pay. Risk stays with ownership, not cleaners. You’re paid to do the work well — not to game a system.

Attendance & Expectations

You won’t find attendance bonuses here.

Not because attendance isn’t important — it is.

But because we believe showing up is part of the expectation, not something to be incentivized through tricks or penalties.

We pay people to the expectation.

That means:

  • Showing up when you’re scheduled
  • Communicating early when something comes up
  • Taking responsibility for your role on the team

If someone consistently doesn’t meet that expectation, they aren’t part of the “we.”

We don’t babysit. We don’t micromanage.

We’re building a peaceful business, too.

Pricing, Time, and Profit

We are a profit-oriented business. We pay attention to labor efficiency and time on each home.

What we don’t do is underprice jobs and then ask cleaners to absorb the cost and stress.

Instead:

  • Homes are priced intentionally
  • Cleaners are expected to give real-time feedback when a home needs more time
  • We use data to look at the home, the scope, and the situation — not to place blame

This is a shared responsibility. You’re not carrying it alone.

Customers & Dignity

Most of our customers are kind, appreciative, and respectful. Occasionally, someone isn’t.

You are never expected to silently endure disrespect, unsafe situations, or treatment that feels wrong. We take feedback seriously and act on it — including firing customers when needed.

We don’t protect revenue at the expense of dignity. If someone crosses a line, they can shove it.

Leadership & Team Dynamics

We don’t run a “cleaners vs. management” business.

Leadership is responsible for pricing, systems, scheduling, and long-term decisions.

Cleaners are responsible for showing up, doing the work with care, and communicating honestly about what they see in the field.

We value feedback and take it seriously. That said, feedback is one input among many. Decisions are made intentionally, with the full business in view, and not every suggestion results in change.

We don’t tolerate gossip or sideways complaints. Feedback is shared directly and respectfully. We have standards — and you can choose whether or not to meet them. We won’t be tyrants about it, but we also won’t lower the bar to keep people around.

CAN YOU SEE YOURSELF HERE?

You don’t need cleaning experience. We can teach the work.

This role tends to fit people who:

  • Take pride in doing a job well
  • Show up when they’re scheduled
  • Communicate honestly and early
  • Can handle physical work
  • Treat people with dignity — teammates, customers, everyone
  • Prefer clear expectations over micromanagement
  • Are internally motivated and accountable

This is not a good fit if you’re looking for:

  • A job where standards are optional
  • A place that manages through bonuses and punishments
  • A role where calling off regularly is acceptable
  • You need frequent call-offs or highly variable availability
  • A hands-off paycheck with little responsibility

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Availability during weekdays (daytime hours)
  • Comfortable with physical work

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Yes — this feels like me,” then this is probably worth a conversation.

If you’re looking for exaggeration, loopholes, or hidden fine print — this won’t be it.
