Degassing Field Technician

Summary/Objective:
The Degassing Field Technician operate and set-up all necessary vapor control equipment such as thermal oxidizers, scrubbers, and environmental monitoring equipment, in accordance with operational training guidelines and safety procedures.


Responsibilities:
  • Work safety and adhere to all company and customer rules and regulations, including wearing all required PPE.
  • Understand Degassing/ Vapor Control Basics
  • Perform gas testing
  • Ability to log field data accurately
  • Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
  • Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and heaving industrial settings.
  • Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, and general work area prior to starting any job. Informs supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
  • Assist in general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
  • Wash and clean company equipment – Pressure wash, clean cabs, etc.
  • General housekeeping – sweep floors, take out trashes, and help keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Help with future job load outs or unloads from previous jobs – Return equipment and PPE back to designated areas.
  • Perform other duties and assigned and all essential job duties.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of industrial experience required
  • TWIC Card
  • Must be capable of passing a pre-employment drug screen.
  • The ability to work safe and always adhere to safety standards
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time
  • Respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week if called upon, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time within a confined space, in extreme temperature environments and at high elevation.
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with training and standard operating procedures,
  • Ability to understand and follow specific procedures and directions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be capable of setting up equipment for the job including lifting and carrying hoses that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Physically able to handle large tools.
  • Must be able to climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder.
  • Should not have a fear of heights.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel or crawl.
