The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, APAC, The Demand Planner is responsible for overall demand planning, purchasing and inventory management of spare parts for JBTM Regional Distribution Center (RDC) across the Asia Pacific region.
Responsibilities:
Demand planning & analysis
  • Developing demand planning and demand analysis of spare parts at RDC.
  • Maintaining data integrity in the ERP system by uploading reorder point, performing needed re-alignment of data.
  • Analyzing and reviewing historical sales trends, inventory and other data statistics
  • Utilizing historical data, market trends, seasonality, and promotional activities to refine forecast models and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Coordination with stakeholders, such as Finance team for inventory analysis and forecast
Inventory management
  • Optimize inventory levels to prevent deficits, reduce overstocking and manage Excess and Obsolete inventory, ensuring efficient material flow.
  • Manage the end-to-end order process, including generating purchase orders based on demand forecast and inventory target, while factoring in cost, lead time and supplier performance.
  • PO booking with real demand and promise date update in ERP system, follow up & monitor with suppliers regarding order status, change request and order confirmation.
  • Preparing regular stock reconciliation report of inventory between JBTM ERP system and 3PL system and conduct investigation the root cause of the differences, work with involved parties to adjust the records and implement corrective actions.
  • Developing and maintaining inventory targets and working with other departments to balance inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking.
  • Conducting year end stock take activity with internal and external stakeholders – finance team, 3PL, auditors etc.
Others
  • Monitoring shipment plan and shortage for respective spare parts to reduce the supply issue and optimize inventory level.
  • Managing the demand planning aspects of the product life cycle (phase in/ phase out).
  • Tracking KPIs and reporting on performance, such as PO turnaround lead time, Inventory turn, on time delivery (OTD), open PO dollar amount etc.
  • Overseeing and improving relationships with suppliers and partners including managing performance and sourcing new suppliers.
  • Championing continuous improvement by analyzing and refining the inventory planning processes to boost efficiency and cost optimization.
Requirements
  • Diploma / bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistic, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in FMCG or spare parts Industry.
  • Preferably with operations experience and knowledge in 3PL management.
  • Ability to work with and analyze data using various tools and software (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Slim4 or JDE)
  • Strong budgeting skills and business acumen.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
