Digital Content Creator (Video, Photo & Social Media) – In-Person

Overview

We are a private college seeking a creative and hands-on Digital Content Creator with a strong focus on video, photography, and social media storytelling to bring our brand and student experience to life across digital channels.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the camera and in the edit suite, capturing authentic moments and transforming them into engaging, social-first content. Design skills — including presentations and marketing materials — are important, but the core of the role is visual content creation and storytelling.

You will play a key role in how we communicate internationally and locally — dynamically, visually, and consistently — across campaigns, recruitment, events, and day-to-day student life.

Key Responsibilities

Video Creation & Editing (Primary Focus)

  • Plan, film, and edit engaging video content, including:
  • short-form social video (Reels / TikTok / Shorts)
  • student testimonials and interviews
  • campus life and “day in the life” content
  • recruitment campaigns and promotional videos
  • event coverage and highlights
  • Own the full video production process from concept to delivery: shooting, editing, sound, colour, captions, and formatting for different platforms.
  • Capture content in real-time on campus, identifying opportunities for spontaneous and trend-driven content.
  • Repurpose video content into multiple formats to maximise reach and performance.

Photography & Visual Capture (Strong Focus)

  • Attend college events and campus activities to capture high-quality, natural photography.
  • Produce photo content for social media, website, and marketing materials.
  • Edit and deliver photo sets quickly for timely use.
  • Maintain a well-organised photo and video library with clear naming and tagging.

Social Media Content & Management

  • Support and execute the college’s social media presence across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Plan and schedule content aligned with campaigns, events, and recruitment cycles.
  • Adapt content to platform-specific formats and trends.
  • Monitor performance and contribute ideas to improve engagement and reach.
  • Assist with captions, storytelling, and content planning.

Design, Presentations & Marketing Materials (Secondary Focus)

  • Create clear, professional, and on-brand visual assets to support communications, including:
  • social media graphics and templates
  • brochures, prospectuses, and simple promotional materials
  • presentations for internal and external audiences (e.g., recruitment, partnerships)
  • Structure presentations with strong visual hierarchy and clarity, turning information into engaging slides.
  • Ensure consistency across materials using brand guidelines and templates.
  • Support the development of reusable templates for presentations and documents.

Collaboration & Workflow

  • Work closely with the Director of International Relations and other teams to align content with priorities.
  • Contribute to content ideas, campaigns, and editorial calendars.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.
  • Respond to feedback constructively and iterate quickly.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in video creation, editing, and/or social media content production, supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Strong proficiency in video tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or CapCut.
  • Good photography skills, including shooting and editing.
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms and content formats (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
  • Ability to create clear and visually engaging presentations and basic marketing materials (e.g., brochures).
  • Basic to intermediate design skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.
  • Ability to work independently from concept to final delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual storytelling ability.

Nice-to-Have

  • Motion graphics / animation.
  • Knowledge of lighting and audio for video production.
  • Experience producing education, recruitment, or lifestyle content.
  • Basic copywriting or social storytelling skills.
  • Experience designing presentations or printed materials (brochures, prospectuses).

Personal Attributes

  • Creative, proactive, and comfortable working behind the camera.
  • Highly organised with strong time-management skills.
  • Collaborative and responsive to feedback.
  • Confident in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Culturally aware and aligned with international student audiences.
