Direct Care Worker (Dcw)

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals with different abilities in their homes and our Skill Building Center. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you care for by assisting them with daily activities, skill building, socialization and community experiences while ensuring their well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals of all abilities, assisting them in daily living activities.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Monitor and document changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
• Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals to meet individual needs.

Skills

• Caring and compassionate.
• Have the skills to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients.
• Ability to perform direct support tasks with compassion and respect for client dignity.
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and first aid practices. Training is provided.
