What We're Looking For
Accountable for consistent Human Resources execution across Wis-Pak and WP Beverages sites and offices while ensuring the company has the right policies, systems, and practices to support operational performance. Oversees centralized HR functions (Benefits & Compensation, HR Operations including HRIS, Leave Time Management and Payroll) and Field HR leadership, ensuring compliance and strong employee/leader support across all shifts and departments.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Strategic Execution
- Translate business goals into actionable HR priorities (staffing reliability, retention, leader capability, compliance readiness).
- Partner with Leadership to provide ER/HR knowledge and advice to strategic planning.
- Establish HR operating rhythms (weekly staffing review, employee relations /compliance cadence, monthly people metrics review).
- Lead, coach, and develop the HR team; set expectations, ensure coverage, and drive consistent service across sites and shifts.
- Establish collaborative review of the on-boarding process for new employees, and ensure material is up-to-date and integrates with training timelines and subject matter. Provide succession planning guidance to safeguard against loss of key knowledge and tribal skills.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Ensure consistent performance management, corrective action, investigations, and respectful workplace practices.
- Partner with operations leadership to address culture, leadership behaviors, and retention drivers by site, department, and shift.
- Serve as the escalation point for high-risk employee matters in coordination with ER/Compliance and legal counsel as needed.
- Participate as an active leadership member in labor negotiations and provide consistent interpretation of Agreement for management team during term of the contract.
- Ensure consistent leave/ADA practices and coordination between sites, HR Ops/Payroll, and benefits vendors/TPAs
Benefits & Compensation
- Oversee benefits, leave administration, and compensation practices; ensure competitive and compliant programs.
- Guide annual compensation processes (merit planning, promotions, job evaluations, market reviews).
HR Operations, Payroll, HRIS & Shared Services
- Ensure HR systems, data integrity, time and attendance practices, and HR service delivery are consistent across locations.
- Oversee payroll process governance to ensure accurate, timely processing and proper controls.
- Drive standard workflows for job changes and promotions, terminations, documentation letters, records, and e-Verify/I-9 document compliance.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain HR policy governance (handbook updates, policy rollouts, training requirements, posting compliance).
- Ensure readiness for audits/claims and consistent documentation and record retention practices.
- Partner with Safety/EHS&S, Finance, and Legal on risk reduction (workers' comp process alignment, incident-related ER, wage/hour fundamentals).
You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- 10+ years progressive HR experience, including multi-site manufacturing and/or distribution environments.
- Strong working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance (EEO/ADA/FMLA process, wage and hour fundamentals, I-9).
- Demonstrated people leadership experience (leading managers and/or multi-site HR teams).
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced hourly environments with multiple shifts and high operational urgency.
