What You’ll Do:

As a Director of Software Engineering, you will lead several Suite Areas within the Hub Solutions Suite and serve as the Suite Area Lead (SAL) for each. This is a highly strategic and technical leadership role requiring deep experience in modern software engineering practices and the ability to influence at scale.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing a multi-year technical strategy, providing definitive architectural guidance to engineering teams, and developing the next generation of Engineering Managers. This position requires a leader who can operate 12-18 months out, balancing immediate client delivery needs with the long-term health and scalability of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Define and execute the technical and delivery strategy for multiple Suite Areas, ensuring alignment with product priorities and organizational objectives.

  • Partner with Product leadership to define quarterly goals, manage suite-area backlogs, and deliver against commitments.

  • Provide architectural oversight and governance, guiding engineering decisions grounded in scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Set and execute a multi-year roadmap balancing innovation, modernization, and operational stability.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead through engineering managers, ensuring they are focused on agile delivery while you own SAL responsibilities.

  • Establish measurable goals for quality, predictability, and customer impact; drive accountability through metrics and results.

  • Ensure sound balance between new feature delivery, platform stability, and technical debt reduction.

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Build, coach, and develop high-performing managers and technical leaders.

  • Manage career development, succession planning, and performance for direct reports.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.

Cross-Functional Influence

  • Collaborate with Product, UX, and Analytics to enable empowered product delivery teams.

  • Represent engineering in executive-level discussions and customer engagements as a senior technical sponsor.

  • Partner across other suites and shared services to advance platform and organizational maturity.

About You

You are a proven technology leader who thrives in complexity and scale. You combine deep technical expertise with strategic vision, and you know how to lead through others while influencing across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on technical leadership in building scalable, reliable, and secure web-based platforms.

Critical Skills

  • Strong architectural and technical depth; able to guide decisions on frameworks, scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Experience managing managers and multiple teams in a matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrated success in owning technical strategy and delivering outcomes across multiple product areas.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable engineering plans.

  • Exceptional leadership presence; skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment.

  • Outstanding communication skills—able to distill complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.

  • Proven ability to lead transformation in organizations evolving from start-up to enterprise scale.

  • Demonstrated success modernizing platforms and practices across multiple teams or business lines.

Why This Role Matters

This Director role is pivotal to the growth and success of the Hub Solutions Suite.
