O te turanga - About the role

Are you an experienced executive leader committed to improving Aotearoa's overall health and safety system?

We are currently recruiting for a Director Strategy Implementation on a 24-month fixed term contract. You will act as an advocate and influencer of better health and safety outcomes for all workers in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Director Strategy Implementation provides executive leadership and direction to Mahi Haumaru's Strategy Implementation group and is responsible for directing the implementation of strategic planning initiatives and ways of working. This role is part of the executive team and will report to the Chief Executive.

The role provides executive leadership of Mahi Haumaru's strategic plans and initiatives and will work closely with senior leaders, stakeholders and external partners to align the organisation's vision, mission and goals with its actions and outcomes.

Ko tou ake mahi - What You'll Do

  • Supporting the Chief Executive to develop the implementation plan that will achieve the strategy.
  • Dealing with the complexity and ambiguity of our operating environment.
  • Demonstrating the value of the Mahi Haumaru strategy by gaining buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Owning and managing the business risks for the strategy with ELT.
  • Independently analysing and creating metrics to track the success of implemented initiatives.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to implement data strategies to optimise spend and generate further efficiencies.

Ko nga pukenga ou - What You'll Bring

  • Experience in providing strategic direction and oversight to organisations, ensuring long term strategic ambition is realised and adjusting organisational direction as needed.
  • Experience in leading enterprise strategic implementation through significant change would be an advantage.
  • A track record of delivering coordinated and prioritised organisational strategies; financial management; business planning and reporting processes; frameworks; and capabilities; including working collaboratively with other Business Group's as required.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding in any of the following - policy development and application, strategy development and execution, intelligence, insights, research within a regulatory environment - built through significant experience at a senior level in large organisations.
  • Lived experience in delivering business led digital change. A first-hand knowledge of data management digital delivery and agile planning would be an advantage.
  • Significant executive experience in managing and influencing strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding and demonstrated leadership in the application of Matauranga Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi to support equitable outcomes for all.
  • Strong influencing capability with excellent written and verbal communication.

Awhe utu - Salary range

As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $272,461 to $360,148. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
