Job Summary
The Disability Support Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives. This position involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including accompanying clients to appointments or social activities.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, focusing on promoting independence and dignity.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document client progress and any changes in health or behavior.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Provide specialized support for individuals with conditions such as dementia or those requiring hospice care.
Skills
- Experience in hospice care, home care, senior care, or assisted living environments is highly valued.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide patient-centered support.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Familiarity with patient care practices and the ability to assist individuals with disabilities effectively.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients.
- Understanding of working with persons with disabilities and the unique challenges they may face.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Previous experience in dementia care is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.22-$25.63 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
