We are seeking experienced and adaptable Disability Support Workers to join our team as subcontractors, providing professional care to our clients.
Role Overview
As a Disability Support Worker at NDCS, you will deliver high-quality, person-centered care to clients with diverse needs. Your expertise will enable you to effectively support clients, manage complex care requirements, and work across various shifts, from short to extended hours.
This role is ideal for individuals with demonstrated skills in disability support and a passion for improving the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional emotional support and care to clients, enhancing their mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, and medication management.
- Respond effectively to scheduled and emergency care needs, including short and long shifts.
- Monitor and document clients’ progress, reporting significant changes to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored care plans.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and ensure they have access to necessary resources and services.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal care standards.
Pay Rates
- $32–$72 per hour, depending on the nature of the shift, including:
- Standard shifts
- Evening shifts
- Night shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Public holidays
- Cleaning shifts
- Sleepover shifts
Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Certifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, Disability Work, or Nursing (or higher).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Manual Handling Certificate.
- Working With Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Check.
- Completion of NDIS modules (Orientation, New Worker Induction, Supporting Effective Communications, Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals).
- Infection Control Certificate, Medication Certificate, and Diabetes Certificate.
Other Requirements:
- Valid full driver’s license with vehicle registration and insurance.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Willingness to work both short and long shifts.
- Must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Holds professional and public liability insurance coverage.

Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably supporting individuals with disabilities or complex care needs.
- Proven track record of delivering professional, person-centered care.
- Competence in using technology, including smartphones and apps, for documentation and communication.

- Disability support worker: 1 year (Required)
