About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Duty Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our liquor store. The successful candidate will ensure smooth store operations, regulatory compliance, and a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Duty Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our liquor store. The successful candidate will ensure smooth store operations, regulatory compliance, and a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt and professional customer service.
- Respond effectively to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Supervise, train, and support staff to maintain high service standards.
- Prepare staff rosters and assign duties.
- Assist with recruitment and performance management.
- Ensure all alcohol sales comply with NZ licensing laws and store policies.
- Manage stock control, inventory checks, and reordering.
- Oversee pricing, merchandising, and promotional displays.
- Maintain store cleanliness and enforce health and safety standards.
- Open and close the store and manage cash handling procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant retail or supervisory experience, preferably in a liquor store or similar environment.
- Must hold a current Duty Manager’s Licence OR LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification) under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
