Position Overview
This isn’t just a Duty Manager role — it’s being the heartbeat of the hotel.
As Duty Manager – Front Office, you’ll lead the guest experience from the moment they arrive, setting the tone for a stay that feels grounded, welcoming and unmistakably Sherwood. You’ll oversee daily operations, support the Front Office team and step in as the hotel’s leader on shift — ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely and sustainably.
From managing guest experiences to guiding your team and making real-time decisions, you’ll balance operational excellence with genuine, human connection.
This is a permanent full-time position with a minimum guaranteed hours of 40 per week.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the hotel on shift, overseeing Front Office operations and supporting all departments as needed.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences, resolving issues and creating a warm, welcoming environment.
• Coordinate arrivals, departures, VIPs and group stays to ensure seamless service.
• Drive occupancy, room rate and revenue through strong product knowledge and upselling.
• Monitor hotel safety, security and compliance, acting as the key decision-maker during shifts.
• Support team performance, training and culture while maintaining high service and presentation standards.

What You’ll Bring

• 1-2 years previous experience in a Front Office or Duty Manager role within hospitality.
• 3-5 years of hospitality experience.
• A passion for guest experience and creating meaningful connections.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a diverse team.
• Solid understanding of hotel operations, revenue and service standards.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and make confident decisions.
• Alignment with Sherwood’s values around sustainability, community and thoughtful hospitality.
