Early Childhood Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with behavioural needs and learning deficiencies and a commitment to fostering their growth and learning.

Duties

• Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote early childhood development.
• Provide support to children during playtime, group activities, and individual learning experiences.
• Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
• Monitor children's progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers regarding individual needs.
• Collaborate with staff to develop strategies for working with children with disabilities or special needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the classroom, ensuring all materials are readily available for use.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and classroom activities.

Requirements

• Previous classroom experience is requires, especially in early childhood education settings and working with children with diverse needs.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset
• Strong teaching skills that foster an engaging learning environment.
• A background in caregiving or experience with children is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $16.50-$31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
