Electrical Project Manager
We’re expanding! Robin Electric Co. Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Construction Electrical Project Manager to join our Project Management Team at our new Head Office located at 4945 Portage Avenue, Headingly, MB.

Established in 1965, Robin Electric is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in industrial and commercial projects; specializing in water treatment, wastewater treatment, fire alarm, distribution upgrades and generator installation.
Approaching 60 years of experience, Robin Electric Co. Ltd. has established solid relationships with many general contractors and clients throughout Manitoba; built on trust, performance and reliability making us their preferred contractor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of project-related office and site duties from inception to close-out as listed below:
- Assist in the development of estimates for the cost plan and project schedule.
- Review electrical drawings.
- Create, track and maintain construction schedules and milestones to monitor completion/progress.
- Participate in all pre-construction activities, including pre-bid and on-site meetings, completing the tendering and construction phases of the project ensuring that all aspects are effectively coordinated and completed within schedule and meeting the specifications while under or at budget.
- Negotiate and issue subcontracts and purchase orders and monitor their progress in relation to their schedule.
- Complete cost forecast, cash flow, and preparation of monthly progress billings.
- Develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budgets are in jeopardy.
- Process all change orders, including negotiating and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Lead in all facets of project close-out, including archiving of documents, creation of maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies and warranty work.
- Proactively identify, address and resolve issues/problems as or before they occur.
- Coordinate on-site material rental/purchases for field workers.
- Continuously monitor, enforce and ensure compliance with Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role as a Construction Electrician, Project Manager, or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling and safety requirements.
- Outstanding attention to detail, with clear organization and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contracts.
- Proven team player with professional interpersonal skills and ability to work with and communicate to a variety of people.
- Must be strong in all facets of service: exceptional troubleshooting, analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel, and MS Project.
- Proficient in reading specifications, schematics and prints.
- Detailed and self-motivated.
Preferred:
- Red Seal Construction Electrician
- PMP Certification
- Experience in procurement processes
- Understanding of COR Safety Certification
- 5 or more years of Field Experience
- Willing to travel to worksites outside of Winnipeg on occasion
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to work at heights (ladders, scaffold, aerial work platforms).
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must possess a current driver's license, and clean driving record.
- Subject to a background check prior to employment.
