You Are:
· Experienced in ER/ICU care (2+ years preferred)
· Calm under pressure & compassionate

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinary surgeons during emergency procedures, including intubation, catheterization, and wound management.
- Provide thorough animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and team members.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform basic diagnostic tests such as blood draws and laboratory analyses.
- Support in radiology procedures by positioning animals for X-ray imaging and maintaining aseptic techniques during sample collection.
- Maintain detailed records of treatments, procedures, and patient progress in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Conduct animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning kennels, grooming, and ensuring proper pet care standards are upheld.
- Assist with laboratory work such as sample processing and analysis to aid in diagnosis.
- Support pet owners with post-treatment instructions and provide compassionate communication during stressful situations.
- Ensure all equipment is sterilized, organized, and ready for use in critical care scenarios.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize cases based on urgency while maintaining a calm and efficient workflow.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care procedures.
- Experience with animal restraint techniques for dogs, cats, and other small animals; familiarity with equine handling is a plus.
- Skilled in performing animal catheterization, venipuncture, and aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Ability to interpret veterinary X-ray images accurately; laboratory experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and pet grooming practices enhances comprehensive patient care.
- Strong dog handling skills including training techniques that promote calmness during stressful situations.
- Excellent animal handling skills combined with a compassionate approach to pet care and owner communication.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior veterinary technician experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
