Description of Work: The Engineering Lead provides technical leadership for laboratory sustainment, system upgrades, integration planning, and technical risk mitigation for the Navigation Training Systems Lab (NTSL). The individual coordinates engineering activities supporting installation, validation, modernization, and lifecycle sustainment of NTSL systems to ensure technical solutions are reliable, compliant, and aligned with mission requirements. The Engineering Lead will provide technical leadership for laboratory sustainment, system upgrades, integration planning, and technical risk mitigation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for engineering activities supporting NTSL laboratory operations
• Coordinate engineering efforts across installation, sustainment, modernization, and upgrade activities
• Serve as the technical authority for engineering planning and execution
• Support planning and execution of system upgrades and modernization initiatives
• Coordinate system integration activities to ensure compatibility and performance across NTSL systems
• Support validation and verification activities to confirm systems meet technical and operational requirements
• Support engineering activities associated with installation and acceptance of NTSL systems
• Provide technical guidance for sustainment, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks associated with system integration, upgrades, and sustainment
• Support development of technical risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions
• Coordinate technical risk information with program leadership and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
• Identify and resolve technical issues impacting system performance or availability
• Support development and maintenance of engineering documentation, technical plans, and configuration information
• Provide technical input to reports, briefings, and deliverables submitted to the Government
• Support audits, reviews, and technical assessments as required
• Comply with all personnel security, background investigation, and credentialing requirements
• Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) requirements and safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
• Follow Government policies for access to DoD installations, systems, and sensitive environments

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years supporting DoD or Federal engineering programs
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering or technical discipline; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education where permitted
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, system integration, and lifecycle sustainment support
