Job Role: English Teacher & School Representative – Canadian International School
Join our dynamic team at a new, state-of-the-art Canadian international school in Mogadishu! We are seeking a passionate and committed English teacher to deliver the Ontario curriculum and serve as the School’s School Representative. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young minds and represent the values of Canadian education in a rapidly growing region.
You will act as both our School Representative and English language teachers!

Teaching Options & Qualifications
OPTION: 1. English Literature Teacher
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related field
- Recognized teaching certificate (e.g., Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Experience delivering English Literature at the elementary or secondary level preferred
- Applicants with experience in Canadian, American, British, Irish, Australian, or New Zealand educational systems are especially encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of curriculum standards and assessment practices
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
OPTION 2. : ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- CELTA, TESL Canada, TEFL (120+ hours), or equivalent ESL teaching qualification
- Experience teaching ESL to children or adolescents
- teachers born in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand
- Familiarity with Ontario curriculum and cross-cultural teaching preferred4
- Strong communication and adaptability skills
School Representative Duties
- Act as the primary liaison between the school and international stakeholders, parents, and the broader community
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and Canadian educational values
- Support and represent the interests of international students and staff
- Assist in organizing school events, professional development, and cultural exchange activities
- Provide regular reports and feedback to school leadership on school culture and international best practices
