About the Role

Are you an Enrolled Nurse looking to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, with opportunities for career development and growth within a specialised area of care? This is your chance to make a real impact while building your skills in acute stroke and rehabilitation nursing.

We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join our small, dedicated team in the Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) and Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (ATR) ward at Whanganui Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality, patient and whānau-centred care. Working alongside nurses, allied health professionals, and medical staff, you will be involved in supporting patients through their recovery journey, contributing to care plans, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) and Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (ATR) ward at Whanganui Hospital is home to a dedicated and passionate team focused on delivering exceptional care to patients recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions. We pride ourselves on our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach where nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals work closely together to support patients and their whānau through recovery.

Located in the heart of Whanganui, our hospital serves a diverse and supportive community, offering a unique blend of professional development and lifestyle. About you

You are a confident and innovative Enrolled Nurse with New Zealand experience, who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

  • Qualified Enrolled Nurse with experience in New Zealand
  • Holds a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Strong communication skills with patients, whānau, and colleagues
  • Confident, innovative, and adaptable in a changing environment
  • Demonstrates effective time management and critical thinking skills
  • Available for 8-hour rostered rotating shifts
