What will you do
The APAC Innovation Demand Planning Manager is responsible for the overall innovation demand planning process including Forecasting, Market PIPO management, and Demand portfolio alignment. This involves playing a key role in market demand reviews to drive alignment between the markets and the region to improve the quality of assumptions in innovation forecasting. The candidate shall also support the regional segment Portfolio Management Review (PMR) to provide data to drive decisions related to innovation pipeline sufficiency and SKU productivity optimization to maintain a healthy portfolio growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Construction
- Develop an unbiased forecast for new product launches for all markets/clusters within APAC region falling under the segment
- Gather all assumptions from the relevant stakeholders as per the assumption management tool
- Drive demand forecast alignment in market demand review with commercial team.
- Ensure strong process adherence in DR by leveraging on DR as the one and only forum to discuss any changes related innovation assumptions before highlighting as a trigger event (if needed) into innovation governance forums.
- Coordinate with market and regional supply team to optimize market PIPO strategy to reduce SLOB and maximize service delivery.
Process Monitoring and Establishment
- Track and review gap in execution vs assumption for agile forecast management, and to document learnings for future reference via post launch reviews.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine demand planning processes, incorporating best practices and scale up at regional level to enhance results.
Segment Portfolio Demand Management
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that demand forecast, opportunities, and out of plan accelerator projects are closely aligned with innovation stage/gate movements.
- Drive cross functional teams’ alignment on the planning of opportunities and accelerator plans in terms of feasibility, timings, investment sufficiency, and resource management
- Drive SKU optimization via appropriate portfolio life cycle management to improve SKU productivity
- Data Management
- Work closely with segment finance to maintain SKU financials as per latest financial charter post innovation governance approvals
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all forums related to innovation management in PLW
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, operations research, or a related field. Supply Chain Certification (APICS, IBF) desirable. Years of Experience: >7 years
- Deep mastery in demand planning and new product launch management
- Analytical Skills: Strong capability in dissecting data, identifying patterns, and drawing actionable insights.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with advanced demand planning tools and software. (e.g., SAP APO) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align detailed forecasts with strategic business objectives.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships across departments.
- Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and adjust plans and strategies in response to changing business conditions.
