Duties

  • Prepare and assemble food items according to event menus, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating dishes efficiently
  • Cook a variety of menu items using proper techniques and equipment while adhering to food safety standards
  • Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination
  • Support catering setup and breakdown, including organizing supplies, serving food, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
  • Collaborate with team members to plan menus that meet dietary requirements and event themes
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout shifts to ensure a safe and efficient kitchen environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
  • Experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry demonstrates valuable culinary skills
  • Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling best practices is essential
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in cooking techniques are preferred
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation standards ensures safe food preparation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues during busy events

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.50 per hour
