Event Porter

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing team at the Round Room at Mansion House in Dublin 2. The historic Round Room is Ireland's oldest purpose-built events centre holding a variety of wonderful client events throughout the year.

Location: Dawson Street, Dublin 2.

Salary: €14.50-€16 per hour (depending on experience)

Contract: full time, permanent

This opportunity will be suitable for a person who has a can-do attitude, has a flare for event setup & interest in general maintenance/decorating activities. This is a fast-paced role, that involves heavy lifting and is an important part of all our event setups and support of ongoing venue maintenance.

Key responsibilities:

• Excellent communication and partnership with our event management team members.
• Set up function areas to agreed specifications.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment/furniture.
• Store and protect equipment/furniture correctly and safely.
• Work in a safe manner always.
• Assist with the cleaning turn around between events.
• Assist with accepting and securing deliveries for future events.
• Excellent time management.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Be hands-on and willing to be flexible in terms of workdays and hours as the business requires.

The Ideal Events Porter:

• 2-3 years experience as a porter in Meetings & Events, hospitality or conference centres
• Have a positive, 'can do' attitude.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to resolve problems and come up with creative solutions.
• Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance operatives.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
• Strong organisational Skills.
• Highly motivated and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Manual Handling certificate would be an advantage
