About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and empathetic Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering evidence-based, functional exercise programs tailored to the unique needs of each client. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to bring meaningful change to a vibrant, culturally rich community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver holistic, trauma-informed, and person-centred Exercise Physiology services.
- Assess, plan, and implement individually tailored exercise-based programs based on the needs and goals of each client with diverse health conditions.
- Work across funding areas, including NDIS, My Aged Care, Workers Compensation, Medicare, DVA, and Private Health.
- Provide culturally responsive, high-quality Exercise Physiology services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people and their support system to optimise health and wellbeing.
- Provide in-clinic and occasional mobile services in Alice Springs and surrounding communities. Remote travel may be required as part of your role at times (if desired).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
- Promote the benefits of exercise as medicine and actively contribute to advocating for the role of Exercise Physiology as an integral part of Allied Health in the Northern Territory.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with professional and organisational standard.
About You:
Our ideal candidate:
- Holds current accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist with ESSA (or is eligible).
- Takes pride in a holistic, trauma-informed, and person-centred approach to care.
- Has a strong understanding of movement, the body, and specific health conditions.
- Is passionate about creating individually tailored, functional exercise programs.

Essential Criteria:
- Accredited Exercise Physiology membership with Exercise & Sports Science Australia.
- Experience delivering evidence-based exercise interventions for a diverse range of conditions and cultures.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card) and National Police Clearance.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Experience working with clients across NDIS, My Aged Care, Medicare or other funding schemes.
- Understanding of or experience working in rural/remote communities and culturally diverse groups.
- Trained in, or open to undertaking Reformer Pilates instructor training.

Health Professional Relocation Grant:
Alice Springs is graphed within an MM6 location, with a relocation allowance up to $7,000 through the NT PHN.
Grants and scholarships:
The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) provides scholarships and bursaries to help health professionals in rural and remote Australia enhance and retain their skills, capacity and scope of practice. This is a payment of up to $10,000 within a period of 12 months for a scholarship or bursary.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $106,000.00 per year
