Family Physician

An opportunity is available for a Family Physician to take over an established community-based family medicine practice in Victoria, British Columbia. This position is part of a planned physician transition and offers continuity of care within an existing, registered patient panel. This is not a walk-in clinic.

The incoming physician will assume care of an already registered patient population and operate an independent family practice. Practice operations, scheduling, and overhead arrangements can be discussed directly with the outgoing physician to ensure a smooth and transparent transition.

Practice Details

• Established family practice with registered patients
• No walk-in or episodic care
• Approximate overhead: 25% (to be discussed)
• Independent physician practice
• Electronic Medical Record in place
• Flexible scheduling based on physician preference

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive longitudinal primary care to a registered patient panel
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across the lifespan
• Deliver preventive care, health promotion, and patient education
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists and allied providers
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using the clinic’s EMR

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
• Certification in Family Medicine (CFPC) or eligibility
• Eligible for Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage

Compensation

Physician income is based on provincial billings and varies depending on hours worked, patient panel size, and scope of practice. Figures listed are estimates only. Overhead is approximately 25% and can be discussed directly with the outgoing physician.
