We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Field Service Technician to join our field operations team. If you enjoy hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working independently in the field, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to support critical energy infrastructure.

About the Role

As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to various customer and operational sites to install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical and technical systems. You will work independently or as part of a field team to ensure equipment and infrastructure operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Travel to customer and operational sites to service and repair equipment or systems

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or electronic faults

Install new systems, components, or infrastructure equipment

Perform scheduled maintenance and safety inspections

Test equipment after repairs to ensure correct and safe operation

Provide technical support and guidance to customers and site teams

Complete detailed service reports, logs, and documentation

Manage tools, spare parts, and maintain service vehicle readiness

Work Environment

Field-based role across Dunedin, Central Otago, and Queenstown Lakes regions

Regular travel between customer sites, facilities, and infrastructure locations

Independent work using mobile tools and a fully equipped service vehicle

May involve emergency call-outs, overtime, and fault response work

Physically active and technically demanding outdoor and indoor environments

What We’re Looking For

Technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, engineering, or related field

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Good communication and customer service skills

Comfort working in varied outdoor and site conditions

Commitment to safety and compliance standards

Experience in utilities, engineering, or field service roles is an advantage
