Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Provide effective financial administrative planning and control on assigned projects/contracts.
- Develop program Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) for earned value/project management purposes to enhance analytic capabilities on programs.
- Perform analysis of program cost and schedule performance, identifying trends and providing actionable information to the Project Leadership Team for corrective measures.
- Prepare and analyze Estimates at Complete (EACs) and deliver comprehensive financial support to assigned program teams.
- Support Program Management in assessing program risks and opportunities.
- Assist teams in preparation for weekly meetings and program reviews.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Support site leadership and program management teams in monthly sales forecasts and budgeting.
- Accommodate unexpected events, achieve critical deadlines with quality results, and contribute as a flexible team member to the site's initiatives.
- Internal Controls and Auditing
- Collaborate with the General Accounting Manager to assist with segregation of duties, audits, and internal controls.
- Prepare and/or review journal entries, accruals, and invoicing in support of General Accounting.
- Conduct preparation and/or review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support audit preparations, reviews, and internal control procedures.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain and update accounting procedure/policy documentation to ensure adherence to corporate policies, contractual requirements, and GAAP.
- Support the site with ongoing ISO recertification efforts.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, GAAP, and other regulatory standards.
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Display strong verbal and written communication skills and function as a team player with a comprehensive understanding of company business systems, policies, and earned value management techniques.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of previous experience in general accounting.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Level three or equivalent in Chartered Professional Accountant program (formerly CA, CMA & CGA).
- Intermediate accounting knowledge with basic knowledge of accounting standards and practices.

Working knowledge of computer basics including:
- Microsoft applications with a proficiency in the use of EXCEL
- Accounting software – preferred Microsoft Dynamics experience.
- Good interpersonal skills with strong customer service and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective organizing, planning and prioritizing skills
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills

This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario.

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
