The Cork Anti Poverty Resource Network (CAPRN) are a community-based organisation dedicated to empowering individuals and addressing poverty through various support projects in Cork. CAPRN aims to create a society of equality and respect among all people, advocating for equal access to social, cultural, physical, and economic resources. The organisation focuses on empowering marginalised communities and individuals to become active agents in shaping their lives and communities.
CAPRN now has a vacancy for a part time Financial Administrator. The role requires 12 hours per week and will be performed onsite. We are open to flexibility on days worked. The role will report to the Treasurer and Finance Group.
The Role:
· Update bank accounts, reconciling and analysing the above on a weekly basis
· Record income and out goings, so that an up-to-date record of our financial records is available at all time
· Run a weekly payroll for CAPRN
· Recording Annual Leave / Sick Leave etc
· Weekly bank transfers for all employees
· Check with Revenue to make sure all requirements are correct
· Keep account of invoices to be paid, making sure using our credit terms to our best interest
· Reconcile all Creditors Statements
· Preparing and submitting Reports for Tusla, which are required on a quarterly basis, (this entails handling queries from funders to ensure correct information is available especially when the SLA needs to be submitted)
· Prepare reports for the Department of Justice to secure funding for Victims of Crime, (this report is required on a six monthly basis)
· Monitor all donations to projects and ensure that all monies/cash directly coming into any of the Projects, are lodged directly and expeditiously into the banks
· Analyse outgoing and all sources of Income from Parent Fees, Aim, ECCE, NCS and Core Funding
· Prepare reports for funding from POBAL, (this is required to be submitted on a four-month basis).
· Regularly liaise with our Accountant, Coordinators and Treasurer
· Submit reports to the Board of Directors on an agreed regular basis
· Manage pre-paid cards for staff
· Oversee end of year audit and active participation in internal audits
The ideal candidate:
· Three years experience in bookkeeping
· Familiarity in accounting system implementation
· Excellent attention to detail
· Previous experience in a community-based organisation or charitable sector an advantage
· Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
