The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all financial and accounting activities of the company. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, tax compliance, cost control, inventory accounting, and internal controls. The role ensures accurate financial data to support management decisions and maintain profitability across all store branches.

Key Duties and Responsibilities1. Financial Management and Reporting

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor and analyze store-level profitability and financial performance.
• Provide management with financial insights and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Budgeting and Financial Planning

• Develop and manage the company's annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance versus budget.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Support management in strategic financial planning.

3. Cash Flow and Treasury Management

• Monitor daily cash collections from store branches.
• Ensure proper cash handling procedures and controls are implemented.
• Manage company bank accounts and cash positions.
• Oversee cash deposits, fund transfers, and reconciliations.

4. Retail Sales and Revenue Monitoring

• Track daily store sales reports and reconcile with POS data.
• Investigate discrepancies between sales records and cash deposits.
• Analyze sales trends across store branches.
• Coordinate with operations regarding sales performance and targets.

5. Inventory and Cost Control

• Monitor inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Ensure proper inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
• Coordinate with warehouse and store operations regarding stock movement and shrinkage.
• Review and investigate inventory variances and losses.

6. Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Oversee the payment of suppliers and vendors.
• Ensure accurate recording of purchases and liabilities.
• Monitor receivables from corporate clients or partners.
• Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions.

7. Taxation and Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure timely filing and payment of taxes and government obligations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Maintain compliance with BIR regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage tax planning strategies to optimize financial efficiency.

8. Internal Controls and Risk Management

• Establish and enforce financial policies and internal controls.
• Prevent fraud, theft, and financial mismanagement.
• Conduct regular financial audits of store operations.
• Implement strong controls on cash, inventory, and procurement processes.

9. Team Leadership and Supervision

• Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
• Assign tasks and monitor team performance.
• Ensure staff follow standard accounting procedures and policies.
• Provide training and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly preferred
• At least 5–8 years experience in accounting, with 3 years in a managerial role
• Experience in retail or convenience store industry is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of financial systems, POS reconciliation, and inventory accounting
