Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations, support store management, and ensure excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and the ability to coordinate a team effectively. This role offers an opportunity to develop managerial expertise within a fast-paced retail environment, contributing to store success and growth.

Duties

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff management
  • Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Manage employee orientation, training & development, and scheduling to ensure efficient shift coverage
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues promptly with effective communication skills
  • Conduct interviewing and recruiting activities to build a strong team
  • Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures accurately
  • Maintain inventory management through stock ordering, merchandising, pricing, and inventory control measures
  • Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges efficiently
  • Implement marketing strategies to promote store products and services
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations at all times
  • Support store merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and organizing displays

Skills

  • Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills and team management expertise
  • Proficiency in retail math, POS systems, inventory management, and cash handling procedures
  • Skilled in negotiation, customer service excellence, and conflict resolution
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
  • Experience with recruiting, employee orientation, training & development, and scheduling shifts
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping, inventory control, and merchandising
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as payroll processing and budgeting efficiently
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to retail settings including pricing strategies and promotional campaigns
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong phone etiquette and organizational skills necessary for effective store operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
