Position Summary

The Finance Director oversees the company’s accounting, compliance, controls, and risk management functions. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, treasury management, contract compliance, and safeguarding the company’s financial assets. The Finance Director leads a team spanning accounting, cost accounting, AP, AR, and payroll.

What You'll Do

  • Hires and trains departmental managers.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Lead all accounting operations including GL, AR, AP, payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
  • Own monthend, quarterend, and yearend close processes.
  • Produce accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, manufacturing cost analysis, and variance reporting.
  • Oversee all reconciliations, journal entries, and financial controls.
  • Assist and collaborate on the development and maintenance of financial models and analytical tools to measure and forecast business performance, risks, and economic impacts.
  • Assist with budget development and provide oversight to monitor cash flow, control expenses, and manage debt obligations effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead financial reporting efforts, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial statements.
  • Work with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and optimize financial practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
  • Lead external and internal audits/reviews; coordinate all auditrelated requests.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Oversee adherence to accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements. IRS reporting
  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead our risk management initiatives cross functionally.
  • Manage insurance renewal processes, claims, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor credit risk related to customers and vendor relationships.
  • Review and monitor financial components of customer and vendor contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to pricing terms, rebate programs, service SLAs, and cost commitments.
  • Partner with legal to evaluate financial risk exposure in new agreements.
  • Facilitate cash transactions.
  • Manage banking relationships and support financing needs.
  • Lead and develop the accounting and cost accounting teams.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies that support business goals and longterm sustainability.
  • Maintain an environment of continuous improvement within the accounting function.
  • Oversee ERP accounting modules and drive process automation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; proficiency with Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to influence and guide executive decisionmaking.
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Adaptability to a fastpaced manufacturing environment with demanding standards for quality and productivity.
  • Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP implementation and optimization
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements specific to the manufacturing industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and business intelligence tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA, or other relevant certification.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel to Everett and Lancaster for team meetings and strategic sessions. May be as much as 10% 15% per year.
