About the Role
The Finance Executive (Accounts Payable) supports day-to-day accounting operations, focusing primarily on the processing of supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments. This role provides an excellent foundation for building strong accounting and analytical skills. The ideal candidate is meticulous, responsible, and eager to learn within a collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and payment requests accurately and promptly.
- Verify invoice details, supporting documents, and approvals in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare payment runs (e.g. weekly or biweekly) via bank transfers, cheques, or other approved payment modes.
- Maintain an up-to-date accounts payable ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely settlement and avoid late payment penalties.
- Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and journal entries related to payables.
- Support in the preparation of financial reports and analysis of accounts payable ageing.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and audit requirements.
- Ensure all accounting entries comply with company policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing of invoices and payment records for audit purposes.
- Work closely with team members to ensure smooth finance operations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and learn best practices in accounts payable.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and payable workflows.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player with a proactive and responsible attitude.
