Finance Manager

Base Location: Dublin (flexible)

Salary: €64,000 -€85,000 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract (15 months) | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the SSE Airtricity Finance team, part of the SSE Energy Customer Solutions Business. In this role, you will oversee general accounting and period closing activities, deliver comprehensive financial analysis and reporting for the electricity and wind businesses, and manage a team of two direct reports. Your management responsibilities will include weekly meetings, task progression, and annual appraisals. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract offering flexibility on working location. However, the successful candidate will be required to attend the Dublin office on a regular basis.

You will

• Work closely with the Financial Controller to maintain high levels of financial control, accurate and timely execution of general accounting activities, the completion of the statutory audit and improve business processes.
• Effectively communicate financial performance to operational colleagues to embed financial understanding within the business
• Interpret and assimilate multiple data sources, including external market data, and rendering into meaningful insight and appropriate recommendations and clear actions
• Influence strategy and translate this into actionable programmes, opportunities or activities that result in improved profitability or risk mitigation
• Lead, manage and motivate a small team of finance professionals.

You have

• Fully qualified accountant with substantial post qualified experience in a Finance Manager/Senior Financial Accountant role, in addition to excellent knowledge of current regulations including new financial accounting standards.

• Proven experience of developing, motivating and leading a diverse, and multi-locational team.
• Operationally and commercially focused with knowledge of Irish energy market and an understanding of underlying market segments
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly excel)
• Able to manage multiple complex projects/processes simultaneously and adapt to changing objectives and priorities to deliver results.
