Join Us in Shaping the Future of Energy Infrastructure

At eSmart Systems, we build next‑generation AI software that helps utilities inspect, maintain, and optimize the world’s critical energy infrastructure. Our technology improves grid reliability, sustainability, and safety globally. As we continue to scale, we are strengthening our finance organization and seeking a Finance Manager who thrives at the intersection of SaaS revenue, financial operations, systems, and data. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both technical financial work and collaborating across teams in a fast‑growing international environment. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable revenue reporting, robust financial controls, and scalable processes that support our growth as a global SaaS company.

Why Join Us
  • Work with cutting‑edge AI technology impacting critical global infrastructure.

  • Contribute directly to scaling a high‑growth, international SaaS company.

  • Build and optimize finance processes that support global expansion.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally across Sales, Product, Legal, RevOps, and Operations.

  • Join a culture defined by trust, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Enjoy flexible work arrangements and a supportive working environment.

About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to take ownership of our SaaS revenue engine while supporting FP&A and operational finance during a period of rapid growth. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable financial reporting, strong internal controls, scalable processes, and clear insight into the drivers of our performance.

You will work closely with Sales, Product, Legal, RevOps, Delivery, and Finance to ensure revenue policies are applied consistently, systems and data flows operate reliably, and SaaS metrics and forecasts are delivered with accuracy and clarity. The role combines technical accounting expertise, systems thinking, forecasting, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑growing technology company.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & ARR Governance
  • Maintain and develop the IFRS 15 revenue recognition policy and use‑case library; ensure consistent application across entities.

  • Own the ARR methodology and monthly ARR roll‑forward; reconcile ARR to billing data and the general ledger.

  • Produce and analyze SaaS KPIs (NRR, GRR, churn, expansions, cohorts).

  • Support the monthly close and prepare revenue‑related audit documentation.

Commercial & Contract Support
  • Partner with Sales, Product, Legal, and RevOps on contract reviews and deal structuring.

  • Assess pricing, renewals, discounts, and multi‑year arrangements.

  • Provide clear accounting and revenue guidance pre‑signature.

Systems, Data & Process Ownership
  • Ensure reliable data flows across CRM/CLM, billing platforms, ERP (Xledger), and BI tools.

  • Define and maintain data‑quality controls, reconciliation routines, and exception handling.

  • Act as Finance’s point of contact for revenue‑related configurations.

  • Monitor billing accuracy and alignment with contract terms.

FP&A, Forecasting & Performance Management
  • Own the rolling forecast across revenue, gross margin, OPEX, and cash, ensuring alignment with ARR and bookings.

  • Maintain and refine the bookings‑to‑revenue waterfall and revenue forecasting logic.

  • Produce monthly performance packs with variance analysis, price/volume/mix insights, unit economics, and cohort‑driven trends.

  • Maintain a consistent KPI catalog aligned to ARR and Pricing Policies.

  • Contribute to cross‑functional forecast reviews and ensure one source of truth for KPIs, ARR, bookings, and cash runway.

  • Support board and investor reporting with SaaS KPI packs, ARR bridges, revenue waterfalls, and cash/runway insights.

Reporting & Enablement
  • Contribute to SaaS dashboards, management reporting, and board materials.

  • Develop clear guidance and training for Commercial, Legal, and Product teams on revenue and KPI policies.

  • Drive continuous improvements in revenue governance, forecasting, and financial operations.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Auditing, or a related field.

  • 5–8+ years of experience in revenue accounting, audit, or revenue operations.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 or ASC 606.

  • Experience working with ARR reporting and SaaS KPIs.

  • Strong systems understanding across CRM, billing platforms, ERP, and reporting tools.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Xledger is an advantage.

  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, CFA or Norwegian equivalents) is an advantage.

  • Background from Big-4 or similar accounting firms.

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems such as Ironclad.

Personal Attributes
  • Analytical mindset and high attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate accounting standards into practical guidance.

  • Systems‑oriented and comfortable with complex data structures.

  • Proactive, collaborative, and motivated by growth and improvement.

  • Thrives in a dynamic, scale‑up environment.

What We Offer
  • Modern office facilities in Oslo, Stavanger, and Halden.

  • Competitive health insurance through DNB.

  • Collaboration opportunities with Microsoft and participation in industry events.

  • Sustainability‑driven mission and meaningful impact on global infrastructure.

  • A values‑driven culture focused on helping each other, being better together, and building great products.
