Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Ballybrit Upper Industrial Estate, Monivea Rd Galway H91 XP49
Reports to: Financial Controller
Job Summary
The Site Finance Manager is responsible for all financial aspects of the Ireland business. This role will set up and maintain the standard costing system, assist in preparing statutory and management financial reports, assess financial performance, conduct costing and variance analysis, and prepare monthly financial forecasts and annual budgets. The Site Finance Manager will also support external tax advisors to complete all tax filings and related matters.
He/she will act as a business partner to local functional leaders and the site leader, providing financial insights to drive operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
Some travel may be required (less than 5%).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Costing & Operational Finance
- Set up and maintain the standard costing system for the Ireland factory.
- Conduct costing and variance analysis; drive operational improvements.
- Evaluate and support cost-saving initiatives.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly P&L forecasts.
- Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor and report financial performance against budget.
3. Financial Reporting, Compliance & Payroll
- Prepare monthly statutory and management financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
- Support external tax advisors with tax filings.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
- Own and manage the end‑to‑end in‑house payroll process, ensuring:
- Accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Compliance with employment legislation, tax, and social security requirements.
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts and reporting of payroll costs.
- Collaboration with HR on employee data, benefits, and payroll changes.
4. Capital & Resource Management
- Manage capital expenditure plans and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare and review investment proposals for approval.
- Track and report on capital project performance.
5. Inventory Management
- Prepare reserves for aged inventory.
- Track and report KPI’s for inventories, Cycle Count, Scrap, PPV’s and inventory turns.
- Ad-hoc reports to support inventory management to functional leader and site leader.
6. Process Improvement & Systems
- Streamline financial processes and systems to improve efficiency.
7. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a business partner to local functional leaders and the site leader.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
8. Other
- Perform other assignments as directed by senior management.
Education and Experience Requirements
1. Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
2. 7+ years of progressive experiences in controlling & costing role in a multinational manufacturing company.
3. CPA or CMA license is preferred.
4. Strong Knowledge in GAAP, IFRS and financial reporting standards.
5. Experience in manufacturing costing, budgeting, and forecasting and inventory management.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented is preferred.
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
